Essential Duties and Responsibilities Include
  • Plans, organizes, implements, and supervises all aquatics programs including, but not limited to, swim lessons, open swim, lap swim, and special events. 
  • Responsible for on-site supervision of aquatics programs.
  • Promote aquatics programming and increase participation.
  • Responsible for developing seasonal swim lesson schedules.
  • Plans, organizes, implements and supervises all fitness programs.
  • Research and stay up to date on current fitness trends.
  • Assists in the production of seasonal activity guides.
  • Assists in the planning, organization and implementation of departmental goals and objectives; assists in the formulation of department policies and procedures.
  • Coordinates programs with other district departments, village departments, civic groups and affiliate organizations.
  • Performs moderately complex administrative and accounting duties, e.g. reviews and evaluates program statistical data, generates and submits reports and documentation, researches special projects and issues, assists Director with annual budget preparation, reviews and maintains accounts, reviews and approves receipts and budgetary expenditures.
  • Responsible for ensuring that all staff certifications are current and up to date.
  • Maintain and submit all required paperwork to the CE & Rec Office, including final rosters, sales receipts, and participant progress reports.
  • Verify the accuracy of time sheets, and approve them upon the completion of each pay period.
  • Recommend supply and equipment orders.
  • Coordinate staff meetings and training opportunities.
  • Promote and maintain safety practices and procedures by both staff and participants.
  • Communicate program information through various methods, to develop and maintain sufficient communication with participants and/or parents.
  • Encourage proper use of equipment and facilities.
  • Maintain confidentiality and unquestionable integrity.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university with a major in Recreation Administration, or related field, supplemented by two (2) to five (5) years responsible experience in the provision of general public recreation programs is required.
  • Increasingly responsible experience in aquatics and fitness recreation programming and service delivery is preferred. 
  • Certifications in Lifeguarding and Swim Instruction required, or obtained upon hiring within the timeline set by manager.
  • Certifications in Lifeguard and WSI Instructor Training preferred.
  • Must possess and maintain a Wisconsin Class D Driver’s License.
  • Experience in a school district setting is preferred.

Salary/Salary Range
$44,346 - $66,264; Based on Experience
