Job Description
The D.C. Everest Area School District is seeking an Adventure Camp Coordinator/Assistant School Age Coordinator to develop, plan and coordinate the Adventure Camp (summer day camp program) at the Greenheck Turner Community Center. The Adventure Camp Coordinator/Assistant School Age Coordinator will also assist with the day-to-day programming of the Adventure Care school age childcare program. The start date of this position is July 1, 2024, but may be sooner dependent on candidate availability.

What You'll Do
Program Development and Coordination 
  • Develops, plans and coordinates Adventure Camp, and Vacation Fun Days and School Age programming. 
  • Responsible for the care, safety, protection, and supervision of the camp environment, staff, and participants. 
  • Organizes and schedules all field trips/travel for Adventure Camp.
  • Facilitates the licensing of the Adventure Camp program and staff.
  • Develops a billing process for all participants and tracks all billing.
Marketing 
  • Works with the Family and Youth Program Manager to assist in the development of a marketing plan for Adventure Camp and additional family programming though the Adventure Care Department to increase camper attendance and School Age Program. 
  • Assists in the development, preparation, and dissemination of marketing materials to promote the use of school facilities, Greenheck Turner Community Center, and participation in Community Services programs.
Operations 
  • Assists the Adventure Care School Age Coordinator in the day-to-day programming and implementation of school age programming throughout the school year. 
  • Enforces rules and regulations of school facilities and Greenheck Turner Community Center program participation. 
  • Helps Adventure Care School Age Coordinator recruit and interview staff for Before and After Care and Day Camp. 
  • Assists in scheduling the use of school facilities. 
  • Identifies needs to be met by Greenheck Turner Community Center and other Community Service programs and provides input. 
  • Maintain Adventure Camp budget within the yearly budget guidelines.
Conflict Resolution 
  • Interprets and analyzes concerns from program participants. 
  • Develops relationships with staff and addresses any staff concerns. 
  • Creates and implements an evaluation tool for staff and participants in the programming. 
  • Develops relationships with parents and students in a positive way for all Greenheck Turner Community Center programming.
Staff Relations 
  • Recruit camp staff based on camper enrollment and program management requirements. 
  • Hire, train, supervise, and evaluate camp staff. 
  • Maintains quality staff for Before and After Care and Adventure Camp. 
  • Makes recommendations for staff needs throughout the program. 
  • Provides weekly schedule to camp staff according to camper numbers to be within licensing guidelines.
Staff Development 
  • Develops a camp training program for all the Adventure Camp staff and School Age staff. 
  • Make sure staff are qualified according to state licensing guidelines.
  • Provide/schedule CPR/AED/First Aid training for all camp staff prior to camp starting.
School Community Relations 
  • Maintains relations and open lines of communication with volunteers, community groups, organizations, and community services participants.
Other Responsibilities 
  • Assist School Age Coordinator during school year which includes programming and working before and after school. 
  • Attends meetings as requested by the Director of Community Services & Special Projects and Family & Youth Programming Manager. 
  • Performs additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications
$49,000 per year or higher based on qualifications and experience.
